Fifty-eight years of brothers, one parish.
Presentation Council #6033 is a fellowship of Catholic men at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey — living out the four principles of the Knights of Columbus since March 10, 1968.
How we got here
Presentation Council #6033 was formally constituted on March 10, 1968, by Catholic men of Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. For nearly six decades the council has served its parish and its neighbors with the same conviction that animated its founders: that Catholic men, organized and purposeful, multiply the good they can do in the world.
The council’s calendar reflects that conviction. Year after year, brothers gather for an Annual Golf Outing, a parish Pancake Breakfast supporting Youth Ministry mission trips, a Christmas Dinner Dance, and a Lenten Fish Fry. Beyond the council hall, members support the local Food Pantry, partner with Nova Hope for Haiti on medical missions, fund Angels Among Us, award academic scholarships, serve meals at Covenant House, support Catholic schools in the diocese, and stand with Right to Life organizations.
Four pillars, one fraternity.
Founded in 1882 by Blessed Michael McGivney, the Knights of Columbus stand on four principles. Our council lives them out at the parish level — week in, week out.
Charity
From the food pantry collection to our work with Covenant House Newark, we are our parish's hands and feet for those in need.
Unity
None of us is as good as all of us. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with our pastor, our parish, and our community.
Fraternity
A circle of Catholic men who hold each other up — at first communions and at funerals, in joys and in trials.
Patriotism
Faithful citizens who honor our country, support our veterans, and stand for the dignity of every life among us.
Charity
“Love thy neighbor as thyself” is not a slogan — it is a discipline. Knights councils around the world put charity into practice through food drives, fundraisers, and direct service to families in need. In 2025 alone, the Knights of Columbus gave more than $193 million to charitable causes. Council #6033 carries that spirit to every parish ministry it touches.
Unity
What one man cannot accomplish, a brotherhood can. The Knights were built on the conviction that Catholic men working together multiply their effect on the parish, the diocese, and the wider world. We work alongside our pastor, our parish organizations, and our community institutions to carry out works of service that no single person could manage alone.
Fraternity
Father Michael McGivney founded the Knights to protect the widows and orphans of Catholic immigrant families who had no safety net — and the insurance program was his practical answer to that need. Today, fraternity means something broader: brothers who show up at first communions and funerals, who carry meals to sick families, and who hold each other accountable in faith. Knights gave more than 47.5 million service hours in 2025, illustrating how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.
Patriotism
A Knight’s devotion to God and devotion to country reinforce each other. Members demonstrate that love publicly and privately: honoring veterans and active-duty service members, standing for the dignity of every human life, and participating as engaged citizens in the public square. Our assembly of Fourth Degree Knights takes this dimension of membership especially to heart.
